Kevin the Pigeon- The First Review
So I have been attentively feeding the pigeons bits of bread and the odd handful of granola that they seemed to be enjoying, but I don't know anything about pigeons....
So I checked in with Richard James, Wildlife Advisor at the RSPB UK HQ, he tells us:
"The pigeon chick seems to be doing fine. Pigeons and doves normally only lay one or two eggs per brood. This allows them to concentrate rearing the one chick. However, this can be a risky strategy but it seems to work for pigeons. It should take the chick about 5 weeks to fledge andhe will be about the size of the parents. If both parents are inattendance then it has a good chance of successfully fledging."
